    • 20:1 – 20~2000 rpm
    • 32:1 – 13~1200 rpm.
  • The foot control provides a hands-free experience as you can use 3 switches as under:

    • To change the coolant settings (Off, 1 step – 50ml/min, 2 step – 75ml/min, 3 step- 90ml/min & off again

Cons:
  • At 2.6 Kgs it’s on the heavier side when compared to it’s peers. Not built for transport, specially as it doesn’t come with a travel case, even as an add-on option.

Review of Ki20 Implant Physiodispenser

Saeyang Microtech ( Marathon), a Korean company has been making handpieces specially for dentistry for decades now. After micromotor handpieces and control units, endomotors, it was but natural to progress to implant physiodispensers and handpieces.

With a market teeming with brands of physiodispensers at various cost points, Ki20 does it’s job exactly the way you want it to, providing you with some bells and whistles along the way.

Ki20 has a E type motor, meaning it requires an attachment. This attachment (handpiece) is interchangeable amongst various companies (KaVo, NSK etc)

Ki20 comes with its own handpiece ( Ki-AG20L), which is an optic contrangled 20:1 handpiece with both internal and external water spray. It has a speed of 30-2000 rpm, max torque of 80 Ncm, a stainless steel body and weighs only 85 gms.

The E type motor and motor cord comes with a motor plug. It should be plugged on when not in use.

The handpiece, motor with motor plug, spray nozzles, clamps and handpiece stand can be autoclaved in autoclavable pouches at 132°C (270°F) for exposure time of 4 minutes and dry time of 30 minutes.

As with most handpieces, addition of optics has made our lives so much easier. Ki20 provides adequate lighting of the site of operation. Internal and external irrigation is an underrated feature of the product too. The motor itself handles smoothly and virtually noiselessly. Coming from the stable of Marathon, you would expect a degree of reliability and you won’t be disappointed at that. It may not be the most stylish looking product (just like other Marathon products), but other than a touch screen, it has all the features you need/desire. I would have though liked a travel case, even as an add-on option for better storage and safe travels.
