- It’s use as a medium or long term restorative should be discouraged, as Caviton starts disintegrating beyond 1 week, specially in Class II situations.
My review of Caviton:
I have used Caviton as a temporary filling material for my endodontic cases. I have found it to be satisfactory when used for a period of less than a week. It becomes slightly brittle beyond 1 week and starts to disintegrate faster as compared to other temporary filling materials in the market. There are better alternatives in the market, like my current favourite Cavitemp or one which has been in use for ages, Cavit G.
