My review of Spectrum Composite (Dentsply)
I have used Spectrum Composite for posterior restorations mostly as a post endodontic restoration. In such a situation you would require excellent packability.
I have found that Spectrum tends to stick to the filling instrument if used in greater quantity at one go. Hence, place a layer of 1-2 mm at a time and which packs without any problem. Dentsply claims a 3 mm layer of Spectrum composite can be cured with >500mW/cm2 light cure.
It needs to be stored between 10-26 °C which is very near to room temperature.
Spectrum composite doesn’t stand out particularly among it’s peers. Options like Te- Econom Plus composite from Ivoclar Vivadent is a suitable alternative. If you are already using Dentsply composites and want to stick to the brand or you want a branded economical composite, Spectrum will do the job.
